I am a graduate student in the Department of Natural Resources, Cornell University, and a CFERP fellow. My research focuses on outcomes of environmental education such as sense of place. I conduct the data collection in community-based environmental organizations in the Bronx, New York City. These organizations reconnect inner-city youth with the environment by involving them in environmental stewardship and restoration activities.
I grew up in Russia and completed my undergraduate work at Tomsk State University majoring in environmental science. In 2006 I completed my Master's degree in DNR, Cornell University. I liked Cornell so much that I decided to stick around for a few more years for a PhD program. The chair of my research committee is Dr. Marianne Krasny.
